Restoring Planes: Metal and Wooden

Replacing a Wedge on 18th Century Plane 1 of 3

I recently won a mystery 18th century bead moulding plane on eBay UK for a tenner.

The wedge have long been replaced by a broken old oak mock up and I need to make a replacement for it.

I bought this moulding plane for the magnificent owner's mark TST.

It is clearly visible but of course I have no idea who it is.

Now, for a new wedge I will use a piece of old beech which came from an old commode I had to break apart.

I outline a new shape a bit oversized.
